Writing, the Lighthouse that Illuminates Career and Life
Let's start with career. In the traditional division of labor in society, men often bear more significant economic responsibilities. Observing men who have reached the pinnacle of their careers, there is often a wise and supportive partner behind them. But how can one achieve success and provide a ideal life for their family and themselves? The answer lies in continuous improvement; there is no other way. The saying "three years to understand the industry, ten years to become a master" accurately describes the law of career development. Take my experience in writing, for example. It has been over 10 years since I started, and only now have I achieved some success in the public account field. I never blindly compare myself to others; instead, I focus on my growth trajectory. Compared to my novice days, I have made tremendous progress.
When I first started writing, I, like many others, thought I was talented and underestimated the difficulty of making a living from writing. Looking back, I realize I took many detours, one of which was being overly aggressive in my writing, focusing on criticizing societal ills and chasing hot topics. However, my work at the time went unnoticed, and I didn't understand human nature. It wasn't until my 30s, with increased life experience, that I gained a deeper understanding of human nature and began to attract traffic with my public account writing. However, whether one understands human nature at 20 or in their 30s is irrelevant; everyone has their unique life timeline. Once we leave school, we embark on different life paths. Some people start their careers at 30, while others begin their entrepreneurial journey at 25. Some get married at 22, only to divorce at 25, while others find their partner at 35 and live happily ever after.
Writing plays a vital role in career development. It is a window for self-expression, allowing us to clearly present our thoughts and opinions to the outside world through text. In the era of self-media, high-quality writing can attract a large audience, accumulating a massive following. With a fan base, one gains market influence, creating conditions for subsequent monetization. Through writing, I have not only improved my expression skills but also found a suitable business model, such as generating revenue through traffic, advertising cooperation, and knowledge payment services. Writing is also a process of constantly honing one's thinking. To write well, one must think deeply and analyze problems, which, in turn, helps make more informed decisions in other aspects of one's career.
Now, let's talk about life. Life has no inherent meaning, much like the life of an ant; it's challenging to define the purpose of its existence. From birth, humans are driven by two fundamental desires: eating and sex. These desires consume a significant amount of energy, especially for young people. If one's life revolves solely around survival and sexual desire, their life lacks depth. Humans need spiritual pursuits, and art is an excellent choice. Singing, dancing, writing, playing instruments, or fitness – if one excels in any of these areas, they will possess unique personal charm. In contrast, those who only focus on making money and satisfying their physical desires have pitiful lives. The more they resemble animals, the less they can display captivating charm. Truly charismatic individuals should possess both relentless drive in their careers and a passion for art and beauty.
For me, writing is both a powerful tool for career development and an indispensable spiritual pursuit in life. It has witnessed my growth and shaped who I am today. I hope everyone can find their own "writing" and shine uniquely in their careers and lives.
