Global Forum Achieves Remarkable Results: Developing Countries as Key Forces

On the grand stage of global economic cooperation and development, certain achievements are quietly reshaping the development trajectories of various countries. Recent reports have revealed the outstanding results of the Global Forum in promoting economic growth and cooperation, with developing countries playing a crucial role.

In 2023, member states of the Global Forum obtained nearly 4 billion euros in additional revenue, covering aspects such as taxes, interest, and fines. Notably, nearly 80% of this contribution came from developing countries. This is mainly attributed to several high - value investigations involving cross - border information requests. African countries alone confirmed over 2.2 billion euros in additional revenue. This figure not only breaks historical records but also exceeds the total cumulative additional revenue confirmed from 2009 to 2022. The participation and influence of developing countries in global economic governance are increasing day by day. Through active exploration and efforts, they are bringing new vitality to their own economies and the global economy.

In terms of capacity - building, the Secretariat took proactive actions in 2024. By organizing a series of activities and training courses, more than 11,000 officials received professional training. This helps improve the professional qualities and working abilities of officials from various countries, laying a solid foundation for better economic management, international cooperation, and other work, and promoting the standardization and modernization of countries in the economic field.

Meanwhile, there was a new breakthrough in technical assistance in 2024. 100 countries and regions received bilateral technical assistance, 79 of which were developing countries, reaching a new historical high. Technical assistance provides strong support for developing countries to fill technical gaps and enhance industrial competitiveness, helping them climb up the global industrial chain.

In addition, developing countries issued more than 3,200 information exchange requests in 2023. This reflects that developing countries are more proactive in international economic cooperation. By strengthening information exchange and sharing, they enhance their say in international economic affairs and build closer bridges for the in - depth development of global economic cooperation.

Behind these key data is a vivid portrayal of the continuous deepening of global economic cooperation and, more importantly, the firm steps of developing countries in their rise. In the future, we look forward to the Global Forum continuing to give full play to its platform advantages, promoting countries to work hand in hand to create more glories in the tide of economic globalization. We also anticipate that developing countries will continue to unleash their potential and write more splendid chapters of development.
