which picture storage service is the best?
I checked one of my picassa album and found
many of the precious photos taken when I was at college. IT IS a total surprise
to find some of the photos taken when I was still a freshman. The photos can be
displayed with a timeline style. How wonderful it is to enjoy the old memories
of the past golden days! Thank Google! Thank Picasa! Since I did not own
a smartphone when I was at college ,the photos taken are not so clear to view. If
it is convenient as the Apps of smartphone today, I think I can store more
meaningful photos of the past. I once used Nokia’s new web service-one web
album which is called ovi to store my photos but it is a great pity that ovi
closed a few years later and I loose the photos stored there. I think we had
better choose stable web storage service offered by large Internet companies.
Flickr ,for example ,was opened in the year of 2004. It reached its apex when
it hit 44 million visits per month in the first quarter of 2008. However,
Instagram is a service boosted by the population of smartphones. It had just
hit 1 million users at the end of 2010. But it reached the millstone of 3OO
million users!
Flickr was acquired by Yahoo in 2005, but Yahoo has the intention to sell it. Instagram was acquired by
Facebook in April, 2014. Instagram is more popular among people who use
smartphones to take photos and share with others. And Flickr still sticks to be
a strict photography sharing website.
If you wanna store your private photos safely
for a long time, you may need to upload them to different service providers in
order top back them up. For example ,we can use both Flickr and Picasa to store
camera-taken photography ,and share n store pictures taken by phones with
Instagram and Dropbox. Some of the most precious photos can be stored in our
emails to store forever. And it is convenient to send it anywhere for a backup
when the web service face the danger of close-up.
